Being first-generation Dominican-American taught me something crucial: standard paths aren’t always the best paths. While others waited at the front door, my parents taught me to look for side entrances, hidden opportunities, and ways to create my own doors entirely. That mindset became my foundation for everything – from building businesses to battling cancer.

Growing up in NYC, I watched my parents navigate a world not built for them. But instead of seeing barriers, they saw opportunities for innovation. They taught me that excellence isn’t just about doing things well – it’s about finding better ways to do them entirely. This became my approach to business: never accept that something can’t be improved.

I built my first service business not because I had advantages, but because I refused to believe I needed them. Scaled it to multiple locations serving over 1,400 clients, creating systems that would later prove invaluable when life threw its biggest curveballs.

When cancer hit during the pandemic, those systems faced their ultimate test. Running multiple locations while going through treatment taught me something profound about operations: they need to be robust enough to survive any storm. This wasn’t just about business anymore – it was about building sustainable legacies.

Moving from my own service business to portfolio operations at Blackstone showed me both sides of the coin – scrappy entrepreneurship and sophisticated scale. But it also highlighted something troubling: the vast wealth gap in business ownership and scaling opportunities, particularly for people of color.

Now, my mission extends beyond just operational excellence.

It’s about creating pathways for other service entrepreneurs who might not see themselves in traditional business narratives.

Every business I help scale is another example of what’s possible, another crack in the ceiling, another proof point that excellence knows no boundaries.

Between raising my daughter in NYC, continuing to strengthen my health, and helping service businesses scale, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t just about surviving – it’s about building systems that let you thrive. It’s about creating operations that support both growth and life, ambition and balance.

Today, I focus on helping service entrepreneurs turn their excellence into empires. Not just because it’s good business, but because every successful scale story helps close the wealth gap, proves what’s possible, and opens doors for others.
